Mike Dunn is a Project Manager, Resourceful Critical Thinker, and Problem Solver Extraordinaire with over 25 Years Experience. Software Development used different combinations of methodologies - Waterfall, Spiral, Iterative, Agile, and sometimes an internal hybrid methodology. Development methodology was selected based on an assessment of business objectives and the state or experience of previous development projects. Most projects required function in the Business Analyst role to evaluate existing as-is processes, elicitation of the expressed user requirements, and generation of 'to-be' processes and implementation plans for the required support. Non-product related experience - Activist role of Champion in Process Improvement programs. Programs have included the development of common Project Management processes for different groups based on internal proprietary standards with the goal of improving Project Manager effectivity, providing common processes for inter-group exchange, and providing management with a common reference for project activities and status. Follow on efforts including updating QMS for ISO 9001 compliance and providing leadership in the CMMI conformance program. Active involvement in organizational training, process refinement, and metrics definition helped the group achieve an assessment determination of CMMI Level 3. Project methodologies, like transportation, may vary with the terrain and environment. I do not believe that there is a single best answer for either best project methodology or best transportation method without taking into consideration the terrain and environment.
